A Level Philosophy.com is designed for students of AQA Philosophy at Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level and will help you study and revise. The site contain a wide range of resources, including notes, essays, revision and essay plans, all written specifically for the AQA A Level Philosophy course.
The A Level Philosophy Course
The A Level Philosophy has been designed to enable students to gain a thorough grounding in key philosophical concepts, themes, texts and techniques. Taking the A Level Philosophy course will develop a range of transferable skills which can be applied far beyond the study of Philosophy.
- At AS, the Philosophy course concentrates on key philosophical themes, intended to provide students with a broad introduction to Philosophy, such as our experience of the world, and religion and it's grounding in belief and science.
- At A2, Philosophy students specialise further, selecting two philosophical themes to study in depth and focusing on philosophical problems through the study of a key text, such as Descarte's Meditations, or On Liberty by John Stewart Mill.
AS Level Philosophy Examination
At AS level there are two papers, An Introduction to Philosophy 1 and An Introduction to Philosophy 2.
